Brayden Kozlowski

Grosse Pointe North High School

Brayden turned in a historic night for Grosse Pointe North on Friday. He carried the Norsemen to a 40-16 road win over Lake Shore in their Week 5 matchup. The senior RB scored five rushing touchdowns, tying the North's single-game school record, and finished with 253 rush yards on 32 carries, averaging just under 8yds per attempt. Brayden opened the scoring with a 68yd TD run on the first drive, then added a second just minutes later making it a quick 14-0 lead for GPN. Two more Tuddies in the second helped GPN take the halftime lead 31-0. His record tying fifth score of the night came in the fourth quarter making it 38-16 before a defensive safety closed the scoring. Most of Kozlowski's production came on tough, gritty, short yardage runs rather than long breaks. North nearly set a new record on the final play of the game when Kozlowski was ruled down just short of the goal line on his 32nd carry of the night as time expired. With the ground game controlling the night, GPN only threw on 8 occasions. Brayden helped power GPN's convincing performance to another win and left the Norsemen looking ahead to homecoming. This massive performance also earned Brayden #NXTGENELITE Statewide Player of the Week for Week 5 - Michigan.
